A Strong Start for Gentleman's Dignity, Starring Jang Dong Gun

Last week, we gave you a preview of some of the hottest Korean Dramas premiering this summer, with a special nod to the comebacks of much-loved actors like Gong Yoo and So Ji Sub. But what would a comeback season be without welcoming the long-awaited return of Jang Dong Gun in "A Gentleman's Dignity"? With incredible stage presence, enviable style, and an almost 20-year-long acting career, Jang Dong Gun is the perfect choice to lead the new generation of F4 (or shall we say, F40?)

In A Gentleman's Dignity ( 신사의품격), four urban professional men who have been friends since college navigate the twists and turns of romance, business, and life in Seoul. Jang Dong Gun plays Kim Do Jin, a successful architect who is sought after by every woman he meets; but the one lady who catches his eye never seems to notice him (she literally ignores his presence!).  She is played by the beautiful and accomplished actress Kim Ha Neul, who starred in Road No. 1 with So Ji Sub (check him out in "Ghost" airing now!). And the love triangle starts forming even in the first episode, when she shows her feelings for Do Jin's business partner -- uh oh.

A Gentleman's Dignity is what you get when you add a few years to the lady-killer foursome of Boys Over Flowers, throw in a strong charismatic woman like Lee Shin Young of Still Marry Me, and mix with the talented writer/director pair that brought us Secret Garden and City Hall. And don't forget that the star-studded cast also includes Kim Min Jong (Athena: Goddess of War), Kim Soo Ro, and Lee Jong Hyuk (Chuno). These four have great chemistry on screen, and every scene has been funnier than the last. A Gentleman's Dignity has had a very strong start, and is looking to be one of the best dramas this season. Skillfully subbed by The Gentleman's Club team on Viki, this romantic comedy airs on Saturday and Sunday and is available to viewers in the Americas.
