Enter The Rose of Versailles Haiku Contest!

The legendary anime series The Rose of Versailles, produced over 30 years ago by TMS Entertainment LTD, based on the manga  (comic book) by Riyoko Ikeda, will be available to viewers in North America for the first time in 30 years on Viki, on December 6. To celebrate we're running a Haiku contest along with Anime News Network, complete with great prizes!

To participate in the contest, submit your Haiku, following the 5-7-5 pattern of syllables, about themes and characters in the series, through Anime News Network. The contest will run from Oct 15, 2012 to Nov 16, 2012, and a panel of judges from both ANN and Viki will choose one grand prize winner, three runners up, and also one special mention.

 

 The Prizes

• Grand Prize: An authentic autograph from creator Riyoko Ikeda, and a DVD box set of the anime series from Right Stuf's Nozomi Entertainment, to be released in 2013


• 1st Runner Up: An authentic autograph from creator Riyoko Ikeda, Viki headphones and T-shirt


• 2nd Runner Up: DVD boxed set of the anime series from Right Stuf's Nozomi Entertainment, to be released in 2013, Viki headphones and T-shirt


• 3rd Runner Up: DVD boxed set of the anime series from Right Stuf's Nozomi Entertainment, to be released in 2013


• Special Mention: Viki headphones and T-shirt

The contest runs from Oct 15, 2012 to Nov 16, 2012. Haiku entries must be submitted to Anime News Network through the official entry form  here. Entrants must be at least 21 years old to enter, or have the consent of an adult. Please check the ANN site for detailed contests rules and information.

Winners will be announced through Anime News Network and the Viki blog in conjunction with the release of  The Rose of Versailles on Viki, in December.
