In this sci-fi
action anime, World War III has left the world in chaos, and aa new species
arises from humans. There is a large crater now filled with contaminated debris
where Tokyo once stool, dubbed "The Black Spot." Some humans who
inhabited that area gained superhuman powers, called "Fragments", and
became known as "Needless."
The story follows the battle between a mysterious pharmaceutical company led by
Adam Arclight,

nuclear war destroyed the earth and made many living things extinct. The
surviving humans now live in a society where the strong now rule over the weak,

One man, named Rao, steps up to create order in the world. He is the
eldest of the four Hokuto brothers and a master of the assassination art of
Hokuto Shinken, an art that has been passed through generations for 1800 years.
He names himself "Ken-oh" and uses his mastery to flight against
rival warlords and anyone who challenges his authority. The life that Rao lived in his youth -- one
without a shred of regret -- is revealed in this anime.
Join the journey to witness Rao's encounter with his horse,
Kokuo-go, with Souga, a general who follows Rao from the Land of Ashura (Shura
no Kuni), how Rao formed the Ken-oh army with Reina, the head of Rao's
bodyguards, the feud with this brother Toki, establishing the Cassandra prison
camp, and the battle of fate with Souther, the successor of the martial art of Nanto
Hououken.
This animated
version includes a new character. Sakuya was created by Yukou Osada, who was
the original comic artist.
