The Viki community is here today because of all the volunteers that pour their love into subtitling, opening up the world of Asian dramas to fellow fans all over the world. Over the years, the Community team has heard countless stories of Qualified Contributors who have connected over this shared passion. Some QCs have even met in person, forming lasting friendships unhindered by time zones.
With all these unique stories to tell, we wanted to put the spotlight on our volunteers and their experiences. And what better way for QCs to tell us their stories than through each other? With this initiative, community members can nominate each other to have their stories told!
What is a Featured QC?
Featured QCs will have their name and a quote displayed on the Community page in the Amazing Community section, as well as the chance to be featured here on the Viki blog! All Featured QCs will receive an exclusive badge, and the users who nominated them will also receive a special badge for their participation.
What is the process for your nominee to become a Featured QC?
These are the dates for the first round of Featured QCs nominations. The next round will be in the fall/winter.
What are the qualifications for users to be a Featured QC?
In order to qualify to be a Featured QC, the volunteer must be:
- A current QC or Gold QC
- Any channel role(s) — Segmenter, Subtitler, Moderator, Channel Manager, or Editor
- A positive role model for other community members
- Follows the Viki Community Guidelines and ensures a positive, welcoming space for all community members — new and old!

In your nomination, please be sure to tell us in detail why you want to nominate this QC. If you could provide a story or impactful example of why this QC has made a difference to you, we would love to hear it!
FAQ
How will Featured QCs be selected?
A panel consisting of Viki staff, including Community staff, will review all nominations and select 3–4 QCs. All nominees will be reviewed to ensure they meet the qualifications listed above. Be sure to include why you’re nominating a user, as this is greatly taken into consideration!
Are multiple nominations allowed?
A single user may submit multiple nominations for different QCs.
A single user may NOT submit multiple nominations for the same QC.
Multiple nominations for the same QC by different users are allowed.
If I’m selected as a Featured QC and want to be on the blog, what kind of questions will I be asked?
These are just a few of the kinds of questions you would be asked:
“How did you find Viki?”
“What was the first project you worked on?”
“Tell us your favorite project you worked on and why?”
“Do you have a special memory here on Viki?”
“Have you made any special friendships here on Viki?”
*What if I’m nominated but I don’t want to be featured?
All QCs chosen to be featured will be contacted by a Viki Community staff member for their written consent to be featured on the Viki blog and/or Community page. If a QC does not want to be featured, they can decline the nomination at that time.
Please note that if you decline, you will not receive the badge and/or prize, and another QC will be chosen.
I want to nominate someone, but do not want them to know. Is this possible?
Yes, on the nomination page, you have the option to remain anonymous. If the QC you nominated is selected to be featured, you will still receive your badge for participation.
